Brad Inggs

Brad enjoys getting involved with all facets of survey but has a keen interest on precise surveying, particularly the precise placement of heavy machinery in big industry. He is also concentrating on the new service of Photogrammetry and in particular - High Definition Surveys - using the latest HDS Laser Hardware.

Survey Services Undertaken:

Engineering Surveys

Setting out and as-built surveys of concrete, steel and earthworks have been undertaken with relation to  SABS 1200 tolerances and specifications. Industrial surveys for the precise spatial and dimensional placement of industrial equipment has been performed using high precision instruments and techniques. This service extends to as-built surveys of equipment and structures and continous monitoring for deformation and settlement.
Road Setting out and As Built Surveys
Road projects have been handled from their inception to the finished product. Control surveys have been undertaken to establish control beacons and benchmarks for new and existing routes. This extends to detailed tache surveys  and DTM production of these routes for design purposes.
Setting out of a designed alignment and cross section that include the batter slopes, offset profiles and all edge and drain details. Culvert sites have been surveyed and set out in detail. The survey of earthworks for interim certificate and final volume calculations is an extension of the computation service resulting from DTM creation.
Once layerworks are encountered, this fundamental process has been closely monitored and documented survey results have been produced showing all layerwork progress and profile tolerance. This has enabled a comprehensive Quality Control and Quality Assurance document to be compiled for the Project Management and Client.

Powerline Surveys

This service starts with Land Owner negotiation for wayleaves and servitudes. Once a route has been selected or a network planned, this has been profiled for design purposes or low voltage networks mapped. Medium Voltage lines have been designed using Model Maker Powerline software and these lines are then set out using the colour coded peg system.

Hydrographic Surveys

Brad has extensive knowledge of bathometric surveys for dredging and reclamation purposes, having completed projects in Richards Bay and Saldanha Harbour for the big dredging company Boskalis.

GIS Mapping and Data Capture

GPS equipment has been utilized to capture asset information and position. Mapping includes Forestry Management and Asset mapping, Crop and Area information, Powerline and Water Reticulation Network Mapping and Customer Data Capture.

Cadastral Survey Field Work

He has undertaken all Cadastral Fieldwork for subdivisions and beacon relocations through an association  who have an excellent reputation and knowledge of land development legislation.
He has recently completed the Hillside 3 Expansion Project where he acted as Senior Surveyor to the SLMR Project Management Team. He is presently performing Precise Monitor Surveys of all major structures and crane rails at the Mozal Aluminium Smelter in Mozambique, and is Project Surveyor to the MRJP Project Management Team at the RB720 Mondi Expansion in Richards Bay.This involves mainly precise industrial metrology for the positioning of paper producing equipment and rolls.
